Catholic Bible Commission-Hyderabad Bible Marathon

Hyderabad: March 23, 2019. (By Rubina David) On 2nd March, 2019 Kalam Dost Group St. Mary’s Convent Higher Secondary School organized a mini Bible Marathon ‘’The Gospel according to Mark’’ under leadership of Catholic Bible Commission, Hyderabad (CBCH) at Sr. Philomena Hall, St. Mary’s Convent Higher Secondary School Hyderabad. His Lordship Bishop Samson Shukardin OFM, Rev. Fr. James Kajoo (Parish Priest St. Francis Xavier Cathedral Hyderabad), Catechist, Students and Teachers participated from school. A total 80 participant actively participated in the program.

 Mr. Akbar Raphael (Diocesan Director Catholic Bible Commission, Hyderabad) addressed the efforts of the Catholic Bible Commission Pakistan and said the commission wants to promote The Word of God through convey information and awareness to make interest in the people by arranging the different kinds of Biblical activities. He gave briefly orientation of Marathon and Bible Marathon. He emphasized the involvement of church groups to perform an effective role for the movement of promotion of the Word of God.

In start the holy song sung by participants and throne to the Holy Bible with full of respect and faith. His Lordship Bishop Samson Shukardin OFM offered pray for the program.

The first chapter of ‘’The Gospel according to Mark ‘’recited by Rev. Fr. James Kajoo (Parish Priest St. Francis Xavier Cathedral Hyderabad) and then participants continuously keep tradition of Marathon by their reading. In this Gospel read following contents:

•             Miracles and Teachings in the Galilee

•             Passion, Death and Resurrection

•             Miracles and Teachings in Judea, Jerusalem and Temple.

It was very spiritual environment. Much silence was maintained there. Participants were patiently waiting for their turn and excited to read their verses. They spent two hours in this Holy gathering.

Participants presented their positive views and appreciated the efforts of Sr. Sarwat Iqbal FMM and Mr. Akbar Raphael for conducting this valuable activity.

Rev. Fr. James Kajoo expressed his appreciable views and said God has lit in your hearts today. Renew it each day and share with others.

At the end Sr. Sarwat Iqbal FMM paid concluding remarks and thanked to all the guests, students, teachers and management team of program organizing committee for their meaningful efforts, interest, time and presence. Thanksgiving pray offered for the success of the program.
