Christian Muslim Students united for a Christmas Picnic

Lahore: December 17, 2018. (PCP) The National Commission for Interreligious Dialogue & Ecumenism organized an Interfaith Christmas Picnic for students of Muslim Madrisas and students from different schools under the supervision of Fr. Francis Nadeem OFM Cap (Executive Secretary NCIDE). The picnic was organized at Lahore Zoo. The purpose of this picnic was to bring children closer to nature and provoke in them love and respect for creation as following the example of St. Francis of Assisi. At the same time to promote Religious Harmony among children and acceptance for one another. On this occasion, Fr. Francis Nadeem while expressing his views, appreciated the participation of these children and congratulated them as they become ambassadors of peace by showing an example of sharing and caring. He encouraged them to admire and take care of God's creation around them. During the picnic, Christmas Cake cutting ceremony took place and gifts were distributed among the children to share the joys of Christmas.Among the other religious leaders who participated in this picnic were Fr. Inayat Bernard, Moulana Muhammad Asim Makhdoom, Sayed Mufti Ashiq Hussain, Dr. Badar Munir, Allama Arif Asghar Chishti, Fr. Lazar Aslam and Fr. Faisal Francis.
