Washington DC: September 25, 2018. (Ahmar Mustikhan) A leader of Pakistani Christians, now based in the United States, says there was no use in talking with Pakistan's new government of Imran Khan as he believes the issue of conferring rights to Christians is beyond his ability and "ISI decides such issues." Dr Nazir S. Bhatti, publisher of the Pakistan Christian Post and president of the Pakistan Christian Congress, said the Pakistani authorities clamped a ban on his website on July 17, one week before what observers called fixed general elections in Pakistan. He said, "When anyone tries to access the Pakistan Christian Post site, gets a message 'This website is restricted in the territory of Pakistan.'" He said this was the first time Pakistan has done this to his publication website but that the website of this party, Pakistan Christian Congress, was banned five years ago. The same message shows up, 'This website is restricted in the territory of Pakistan.'" He said Pakistan websites are dependent on state-controlled PTCL servers. He said before the part website was shut down five years ago he got lot of emails that said he should not cover news about protests against the $64 billion China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and Sindhi protests. "This time before the shutdown of the post website someone called me introduced himself as an ISI person on the phone. he said I should not publish stories about Kashmir, the chief justice and CPEC issues." He said he refused to follow the instruction and his website was banned on July 17.
