Faisalabad: March 12, 2018. (PCP) Human Rights Focus Pakistan (HRFP) in collaboration with Global Human Rights Defense (GHRD) celebrated the International Women’s Day 2018 with theme of “Press for Progress” at district Faisalabad (Punjab) in which the women and men from different fields of life participated. The representatives of civil society organizations, political workers, social activists, HRD’s, lawyers, teachers, youth and students raised demands to end all forms of violations against women. Naveed Walter, President of Human Rights Focus Pakistan (HRFP) urged authorities to stop human rights violations against women, particularly the domestic violence, incidents of acid throwing, stove bursting, burnings, honor killings, trafficking and sexual and mental harassments should be ended. Naveed Walter said further the available laws and new legislations are not enough but the implementations are a main challenge to make a change. Together we have to end violence and such practices, he added more. Ms Nusrat Samuel (Women Activist), Miss Muqadas (Youth ), Miss Mehak (Student), Miss Minahal (Youth), Barkat bibi (House Wife) ,Fr. Younas Shahzad (Local Church Priest), Manzoor Anthony (HRD), John Victor (Writer) ,Naveed Zafar (Lawyer), Raja Thomas (Political Worker) , Robin Daniel (Political Worker), Abrar Younas (Activist), Zafar Iqbal (HRD) and others condemned all forms of violations against women’s all over the Country particularly the abductions , forced conversions and forced marriages of minority girls. The speakers condemned physical, sexual, psychological and emotional violence with women. They said further that without women’s role the society cannot flourish and without changing the mind sets of men, the society cannot become a violence free society with gender equality, they added more. The President of HRFP said further that Human Rights Focus Pakistan (HRFP) efforts, to end all forms of discrimination against all women and girls everywhere, to eliminate all forms of violence against all women and girls in the public and private spheres, including trafficking and sexual and other types of exploitation and to eliminate all harmful practices, such as child, early and forced marriage and female genital mutilation, added more.
