The Capuchin Community bids a farewell to the Last Belgian Missionary in Pakistan

Lahore: February 19, 2018. (PCP) The Capuchin Friars in Pakistan got together on the evening of Feb. 12, 2018 to say express their gratitude to Fr. Leopold Evens who has worked in Pakistan as a missionary for 48 years (1970-2018). His Grace Archbishop Sebastian Francis Shaw OFM admired the zeal and passion of Fr. Leopold for the educational and moral uplift of the life Christians who live under slavery of Kiln owners. Fr. Leopold Evens celebrated a thanksgiving Mass whereas all the local priests concelebrated with him. Fr. Mahboob Evarist highlighted the services of Fr. Leopold as a Formator, Parish Priest and as an educationist. The Choir of Capuchin House, Lahore sang beautiful hymns under the guidance of Fr. Ashfaq Anthony. His Grace Archbishop Sebastian Francis Shaw was also present on this occasion. During the Special Thanksgiving prograame Fr. Leopold was paid a homage by Fr. Qaisar Feroz, Fr. William Bashart and Fr. Shahzada Khurram who have worked with Fr. Leopold Bhai Pheru. The students of the Formations Houses and the Principals of capuchin schools presented gifts to Fr. Leopold. Fr. Francis Nadeem, Custos, Mariam Siddeeqa Custody Pakistan thanked all the participants. He appreciated the long struggle of Fr. Leopold in Pakistan. A shield was presented by Archbishop and Fr. Francis Nadeem as a token of gratitude to Fr. Leopold. In his Vote of Thanks, Fr. Leopold thanked all the benefactors, teachers and Friars who have helped him in this noble cause in the last 48 years.
