HRFP holds a Condolence Reference of courageous HRD Ms Asma Jahangir

Faisalabad: February 19, 2018. (PCP) Human Rights Focus Pakistan (HRFP) with Global Human Rights Defence (GHRD) holds a condolence reference of Ms Asma Jahangir. The individuals and representatives of different social, religious and political groups attended the event and appreciated her precious services for vulnerable people particularly for women, children and minorities. The participants vow to continue her mission in the same routine she has been practicing in her life. Ms Asma Jahangir died on Sunday, 11 February 2018 and her funeral was conducted on 13 February 2018 in which HRFP team also participated and shared the condolence with family and mourners as the whole nation grieved on death of such a true great Activist. Mr. Naveed Walter President HRFP addressed and paid tribute to Asma Jahangir for her tireless struggle to restore the human rights and democratic values in country. Naveed Walter said that when Asma started her job on human rights issues she was the only person who speaks for women, children and minorities rights on that level and she also promoted awareness and sensitized to women and minorities about their issues. Priest of Catholic Church Fr. Younas Shahzad said, Asma Jahangir was a hope of victims they believed her as a source of justice. He added that laws regarding women, children and minorities protection are developed under her references and recommendations through her lobbying & advocacy campaigns. Ms Nusrat Samuel, Ms Iqbal bibi , Ms Manzooran bibi, Ms Muqadas , Mr. Raja Thomas Albert , Mr. Robin Daniel, Mr. Manzoor Anthony, Mr. Zafar Iqbal , Mr. Abrar Younas and other participants further added that Asma Jahangir raised voice from roads to courts, from grass roots level to sate levels and from national level to international platforms. She knocked every door of hope for justice, equality, tolerance and peace and for this cause she sacrifices a lot as well. Human Rights Focus Pakistan (HRFP) acknowledged her services as a courageous Human Rights Defender (HRD) spent her life to make a change in society and a country of founder’s vision with equal status for every citizen. HRFP believes that Asma Jahangir will reign in the hearts of people due to her marvelous contribution for promotion & protection of human rights in Pakistan.
