National Commission for Interreligious dialogue and ecumenism prays for Peace among India and Pakistan

Lahore: January 24, 2018. (Sunil John) A delegation of Ecumenical solidarity committee Lahore made a visit to Ganda Singhwala Border Kasur with the purpose of peace between India and Pakistan. This prayer service was led by Fr. Francis Nadeem (Coordinator ESCL, Executive Secretary NCIDE). He said on this occasion that we have lighted the peace candles with the expectation of mutual respect and promotion of harmony and development among both the countries. The spokesperson of the NCIDE; Fr. Inyat Bernard said, “During the Unity Octave which is from 18th January till 25th January, we made a point to visit the Border Parish with the purpose of Indo-Pak peace and the unity octave Bible service at the Catholic Church of Kasur. The pastors of Salvation Army, Presbyterian church, Church of Pakistan and the Catholic Church, religious leaders included Major Saleem Yousaf with his wife major Irshad, Presbyterian pastor Amjad Niamat, Church of Pakistan Raiwind Diocese, Pastors Rev. Emmanuel Khokher, Salim Khokher and Rev. I.B. Rocky. Among the other fathers besides Fr. Francis Nadeem OFM Cap and Fr. Inyat Bernard were Fr. Fiaz Rafiq OFM Cap and Fr. Naqash Azam. This prayer service was hosted by Fr. Bashart Exupare OMI.
