Lahore: January 18, 2018. (PCP) A rally was organized by the children of different schools and Islamic seminaries under the banner of National Commission for Interreligious Dialogue & Ecumenism (Catholic Bishops Conference Pakistan). This rally was led by Fr. Francis Nadeem, the executive secretary NCIDE. The children were carrying play cards with slogans; We condemn the brutal killing of Zainab, Justice for Zainab and May God protect us. One 8 years old girl was abducted, raped and murdered in city of Kasur by unknown criminal on which anger spread in city and protests broke out. Two protestors were killed by police firing when hundreds of protesters gathered in front of Deputy Commissioner Kasur office demanding immediate arrest of killer of rape victim Zainab. The Civil Society activists also took to streets in different cities of Pakistan demanding justice for Zainab. There have been 12 incidents of rape and murder of children in city of Kasur within two months period while police failed to arrest rapist killer. In his message, Fr. Francis Nadeem strongly condemned this act of brutality. He asked the teachers and parents to be vigilant in taking care of their children.
