NCIDE Delegation consoles the family of Murdered Arsalan Masih at Shekhupura

Lahore: October 17, 2017. (PCP) A delegation of National Commission for Interreligious Dialogue and Ecumenism (Catholic Bishops’ Conference – Pakistan) visited the home town of Arsalan Masih, a 16 years old Christian student of class 8th, who was beaten to death by a group of six policemen as a result of a fighting between Arslan Masih and sons of a Policeman. The delegation was lead by Fr. Francis Nadeem OFM Cap (Executive Secretary NCIDE) along with Fr. Inyat Bernard and Muslim scholars namely, Moula Asim, Moulana Shakil ur-Rehman and Mufti Ashiq Hussain. After this tragic incident, Christians of the area felt insecure and tension was increasing between the Muslims and Christians. The delegation met with the religious leadership of the area and discussed how to eradicate the feelings of anger and insecurity to avoid any unpleasant event in the future. The delegation urged the authorities to get justice for poor Christian family of Arsalan Masih who was assassinated by the Policemen.
