India: February 15, 2007. S. Stanley, 58, a retired PSC employee was stabbed in front of his house at Pavaloor near Kalliyoor, in the Nemom police station limits on Saturday. On Saturday, February 10th, in the afternoon, some youth assembled in front of Stanley's house, they shouted blasphemous abuses against Christians and Christians. Stanley`s and his wife Sisilet Bhai came out and asked them to go away, this angered the youth even further. The young men then began stoning the house and violently tried to force open Stanelys gate. Stanely went inside and telephone the Nemom Police Station for assistance. In the meanwhile, the attackers climbed over the locked gate, entered the house and stabbed Stanely several times at his back, neck and stomach. They also assaulted his wife Sisilet Bhai. Stanley succumbed to his injuries., The three youth fled the scene on a two-wheeler, which was later found, abandoned at Nedumancad near Karamana The city police have launched a manhunt for the three youth. One identified as Lalu, 30, son of V. Soman Dr. Sajan George, National President, and GCIC condemns this murder of Stanley. Stanley was a practicing Christian, who lived a simple retired life. The youth men targeted him for his faith. GCIC demands an investigation into the murder of Stanely, which took place in broad daylight, GCIC also expresses condolences to his bereaved family.
