Interreligious Independence Day Celebrations 2017

Lahore: August 11, 2017. (PCP) Religious Leaders of the different religions residing in Pakistan (Muslim, Christian, Sikh and Hindu) got together at Minar-e-Pakistan for a common Celebration in connection with 70th Independence Day of Pakistan. This ceremony was organized with a combined effort of Fr. Francis Nadeem, Fr. Inyat Bernard, Rev. Shahid Merhaj, Mr. Sohail Ahmad Raza of Minhaj ul Quarn Institute, Sardar Bishan Singh, Sardar Ranjeet Singh, Sardar Utar Singh and Pandit Bhaggat Lal from Hindu Community. All the leaders of the different religions expressed their solidarity while holding the Pakistani Flag high. In their sentiments, all the leaders expressed their wish for a prosperous, peaceful and an egalitarian Pakistan. They prayed according to their beliefs for peace and harmony in Pakistan. A number of people were present for this ceremony to mark the happiness and joy of the Independence Day. A cake was also cut in the end of the Programme.
