NGO criticized for making fortune by exploiting minorities rights

HYDERABAD: July 5, 2017. (By Abbas Kassar) The caste system in Thar is eating into the essential of the peaceful atmosphere of Thar. The lecture programme was organized in Benazir Culture Complex in Mithi here on Sunday. Speaking on the occasion writer and activist Akash Santorai deplored that some vested interests for their petty interests were promoting the hatred and fanaticism among the various communities living in Thar region particularly in Hindus. He said that such moves and acts were being done by those who willfully wanted to create the communal disharmony and differences among various Hindu communities to get funds from international donor agencies by showing their plight due to various reasons. Mr Santorai speaking on the impacts of classification of caste system and sustainable development urged the participants of the events to create the awareness among Tharis, who, according to him, were being exploited by the people, whose so-called organization were cashing on their poverty off Tharis. “This the high time to say big no to caste system which has already incurred the huge economical as well as the communal unrest among the people" he added. Mr Akash requested the international donor agencies to stop giving the funds to such organization, who were engaged in the divide of the various communities living in Thar adding he informed the participants that India was still reeling under caste system, which he said would only, keep them slaves of the few people of the so-called upper classes. " People of Thar should come out of such traps and concentrate s on the education and future of their coming generation since the region was passing through the age of transformation. He urged government to launch the sustainable programmes keeping in view the impacts of the climate change its and ts challenges adding he observed that there was need to to bring the changes in the infrastructure of health, education, rain-based agriculture, tourism etc. to bring the real changes in the lives of Tharis and get them rid of charities. He urged concerned department of Sindh government to plant at least 0.5 million trees every year so that to control damage already done by the projects launched by government and mining firm by extracting the coal and other minerals. The participants of the event fully agreed with the points raised by Mr Santorai and pledged that they would try their level best to create the awareness among their people to get rid of the caste system, which according to them, was the great impediment in their progress and prosperity. on the occasion Aatim Meghwar, Mumtaz Nohrio, Kanghi Mal, Kishwer Toghani, Ravi Kumar and others adeavors the views of Mr. Akash Sentorai.
