Christian leader demands to stop misuse of blasphemy law against minorities in Pakistan

Liverpool: June 6, 2017. (PCP) Mr. Saleem Khursheed Khokhar, Ex MPA Sindh and Ex-Chairman Standing Committee on Minorities Affairs Sindh Assembly said in his statement that the JIT report which was constituted on the murder case of Mashal Khan’s and was objected to prove Mashal Khan as innocent but it is regret to say that the blasphemy law has been used as a weapon in personal interest / gains. The existing religious minorities communities in Pakistan such as Hindus, Ahmedis including Christians have badly affected and are being victimized for nothing under this Law. Hence in view of above circumstances, the religious minorities and liberal Muslims feels them in secure in Pakistan in a wake of existence of this law. He demanded Government of Pakistan to probe into this serious matter and take serious measures to avoid misuse of this blasphemy law and its unwarranted practice may be stopped immediately and disclose the Mashal Khan murder JIT to public to ascertain the factual position and to convict the actual culprits of Mashal Khan, Asia Bibi, Sawan Masih, Parvez Akhtar Sothra and others as soon as possible in the best interest of public at large.
