Christian Lawyers raising voice for rights on target of Muslim extremists in Pakistan

Karachi: May 30, 2017. (PCP) Mr. Saleem Khursheed Khokhar, Ex Member Provincial Assembly Sindh and Ex-Chairman Standing Committee on Minorities Affairs Sindh Assembly said in his statement that ratio of forced conversions and forced marriages are increasing day by day. He said that there are many case of “Wanni”, “Karokari” and “Watta Satta” have been reported. He said the person or Lawyer who worked against forced marriages, forced conversions of religion and providing help to the victims received threats or killed by the religious extremists. He said recently Aliya Shehzad Advocate of High Court in Sheikhupura and today Zaib Alam Advocate in Mardan have been killed but the government is silent on the other hand Ms. Jacquline Sultan Advocate High Court has received death threat letter. The Federal and Provincial Government has failed to provide security to the lady advocate hence she is living at unknown place and his home and office are closed since two weeks. He further said by not providing security to the Lawyer shows that Government has not any interest to provide help or facilitates to Christian Lawyer because she belongs to minority community He requested government departments to arrest the killers of Aliya Shahzad and Zaib Alam Advocates and demanded to provide security to Ms Jacqueline Sultan Advocate at an early date.
