Karachi: May 5, 2017. (PCP) Ms. Jacqueline Sultan in her meeting with representative of a daily newspaper said that Minority Protection bill can protect minorities rights like forced marriages, forced conversion of religion and changing minds of immature children for adopting other religion but PPP Co-Chairperson Mr. Asif Ali Zardari has disappointed, as he took back the minority bill on the pressure of religious parties and all these legitimate rights of minorities were discouraged. She said that I am working with the many organizations who are working for the cause of Humanity. She said we had organized a Seminar where Allama Abbas Komaili, Sheri Ahmer Sehwani, Dr. Tasneem Kausar, Mst. Ghazala Shafiq, Mst. Beena Humayoun, Saleem Khursheed Khokhar (Ex MPA Sindh Assembly) and others attended the Seminar on forced conversion and forced marriages. All respectable guests appreciated our efforts and spoke on this issue but some unseen eyes were focused on this program. Against the said issue the Qadiyani Member of Sindh Assembly Malik Atta was killed and after words the noble politicians Allama Abbas Komaily’s son was killed and other members were also harassed. She said I also closed my social activities for long time. After Karachi operation the situation of the city got better day by day. She said according to The Movement and Solidarity for Peace, a social organization, around 1000 minors are forced to convert their religion to Islam every year. Sindh government should stand firmly on their words and do not leave the space to fanatics. If they push back a step, religious parties will more back them and at least they will reach to the wall. She said forced conversion is against the teaching of every religion.
