Muslim scholars honor Catholic Archbishop and his delegation with Iftar Party

Lahore: April 12, 2017. (Sunil John) The principal of Bait-ul-Quran; Mufti Sayed Ashiq Hussain organized a fast breaking ceremony in honour of Archbishop Sebastian Francis Shaw OFM of Lahore and the Christian Delegation of National Commission for Interreligious Dialogue and Ecumenism (CNIDE). The Muslim scholars and leaders welcomed the delegations wholeheartedly and cited the presence of Christians in their Muslim Seminary. They considered it an honour and privilege to host the leadership of the Christian community. The Delegation comprised of His Grace Archbishop Sebastian Francis Shaw OFM, Fr. Francis Nadeem OFM Cap, Fr. Inayat Bernard, Fr. Javed Kashif OFM Cap, Fr. Qaiser Feroz OFM Cap, Dr. Marqas Fida, Mr. Javed William, Sunil John and the students of St. Mary’s Seminary, Lahore.. The host; Mufti Sayed Ashiq Hussain thanked all the participants for being present and especially thanked His Grace Archbishop for fulfilling his long awaited promise to visit the Madrisa. While thanking the hosts, Fr. Francis Nadeem OFM Cap expressed his happiness and appreciated the efforts of Muslim scholars for the promotion of peace, harmony and brotherhood. The Iftar dinner is a symbol of unity among the different religions. His Grace Archbishop narrated his views and gave brief significance of the Lent season. He encouraged the audience with his beautiful words to change ourselves for the betterment. He too thanked Mufti Ashiq Hussain and presented him a gift of cake. The delegation was served a festive dinner followed by the Peace Fruit Olives.
