Archbishop Sebastian Shaw urges Religious Leaders to Pray for Peace

Lahore: March 19, 2017. (Fr. Francis Nadeem) Archbishop Sebastian Francis Shaw OFM; the chairman of National Commission for Inter-religious Dialogue and Ecumenism (Catholic Bishops’ Conference - Pakistan) and the member of the Pontifical Council for Inter-religious Dialogue strongly condemns the recent terrorist attacks in Lahore and Sahwan Sharif. He made special comment to the Government of Pakistan to provide safety and protection of the people. He urged the religious leaders of both Christian and Muslim communities to offer prayers on Friday in the Mosques and on Sunday in the Churches for the Peace in the country. He further expressed his wish that Peace may prevail in the country in the days to come. Muslim Christian Women Pray for Peace and for the victims of recent bomb blasts Pakistan A group of Muslim Christen women came together under the banner of National Commission for Inter-religious Dialogue and Ecumenism to pray together for the victims of recent bomb blasts of Lahore and Sehwan Sharif. The women lit candles to show solidarity with the victims of these bomb blasts and prayed for speedy recovery of the injured. The prayer service was lead by Fr. Francis Nadeem. Meanwhile, children from different schools got together and prayed for a peaceful Pakistan. They were carrying llumnated candles with prayerful words on their lips for the victims of bomb blasts of Lahore and Sehwan Sharif. They prayed together for the injured. They all rected together the prayer of St. Francs for peace raised slogans in favour of peace. They chanted “We want Peace”.
