Islamabad: February 9, 2017. (PCP) Convener World Minorities Alliance and Organizer Awami Maseeha Party Mr. J Salik rejected the electoral reforms and said that the electoral reforms made by government are negating the democracy in Pakistan because government did not make any change in the method of minorities’ election.
He said that the verdict of the Supreme Court of Pakistan has come, more than one and half year ago on the case regarding minorities election system and the apex court advised parliament in its decision of 5th August, 2015 that stop considering minorities as second class citizens and change their method of election, but no improvement in this regard is made by parliament yet.
He demanded to bring necessary reforms in the electoral system before the elections so that minorities can choose their representatives because it’s the violation of the article 226 of the constitution as well.
