Karachi: December 1, 2016. (PCP) Pakistan Christian Congress PCC Central Secretariat leaders have criticized leaders of Muslim religious parties on opposing forced conversion bill passed by Sindh provincial assembly. In a statement issued by Dr. Nazir S Bhatti, President of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC has expressed dismay on reaction of JI, JUI (F) and other Muslim political parties on forced conversion to Islam of religious minorities’ individuals’ legislation in Sindh Assembly. Nazir Bhatti said “Religious minorities expected that Muslim leaders will present such bill in Senate of Pakistan and National Assembly of Pakistan to implement similar law in federation of Pakistan but opposition to enforcement on forced conversion in Sindh by them is unfortunate and double standard when it is claimed that Islam fully protects religious minorities” Hundreds of Christian and Hindu girls are kidnapped and enforcedly converted to Islam every year in Pakistan who are later given as sex slave wives to influential and wealthy Muslims. In Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Muslim kidnappers are fully protected when they kidnap and enforcedly convert Christian and Hindu women. Meanwhile, addressing a news conference, Jamaat-i-Islami Ameer Siraj-ul-Haq was of the opinion that the new bill adopted by the Sindh Assembly against forced conversions is un-Islamic. He said that Sindh government should take back the bill immediately as he also cleared to meet Zardari in personal capacity over the matter. Nazir Bhatti urged Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif who leads Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz Group PML (N) to present forced conversion bill in National Assembly of Pakistan that religious minorities may feel secure in Pakistan.
