Peace Rally to remember the martyrs of Quetta

Lahore: August 16, 2016. (Pervez Yousaf) August 13, 2016: Council for Interfaith Dialogue Pakistan (CFID) took out a peace rally to remember the martyrs of Quetta, who were attacked by a terrorists’ outfit in a recent deadly attempt. Most of them were lawyers including one Christian. Fr. Francis Nadeem OFM Cap, coordinator of CFID was the chief organizer of the peace rally which was also headed by Hafiz Mufti Syed Ashiq Hussain, Dr. Badar Munir, Edward Qaisar, Pir S.A. Jafri and Samuel Pyara. A good number of men women and children belonging to different religions were present in the rally. All were holding enlightened candles in their hands. The rally was taken out at Liberty Chowk Gulberg Lahore. Participants of the rally strongly condemned this horrific attack on guiltless people and demanded government of Pakistan to take immediate measures to curb target killing and terrorism continued for years in the country. They offered prayers for the departed souls and for the courage and comfort of their families. Participants also observed one minute’s silence to pay them reverence. All the participants offered prayers for the success of Pak Armed forces against terrorism and for the restoration of peace, progress, and prosperity of the country.
