Give us rights then celebrate Minority Day says J Salik

Islamabad: August 11, 2016. (PCP) Convener World Minorities Alliance and Organizer Awami Maseeha Party Mr. J. Salik addressed an important Press Conference on the issue of “Minority Rights” today at his residence in Islamabad. He said that rights to minorities should be given instead of celebrating unnecessary days. He said that 11th August only has the importance because Founder Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah said that “Minorities are sacred trust of Pakistan and are equally citizens or Pakistan” in the first ever constituent assembly in 1947, he said if we have forgotten his thoughts then why are we just celebrating this day as “Minority Day”, which is useless. He said that in eighteenth amendment not only minorities have been pushed from federal and they are now just under provinces but they lost the right to become a Prime Minister, which is negating the sayings of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah. He said that minorities are now in confusion because they don’t know that whether they have to celebrate 11th August or 14th August, which is not only reducing the importance of National Day but this confusion can be a cause of breaking the nation. He said that the declaration of minority day on 11th August is a worst conspiracy to divide the Pakistani nation. He said that Minorities have lost the right to become a Prime Minister, Minorities have been pushed from federal to provinces, Minorities yet don’t have their electoral rights even when Supreme Court of Pakistan has concluded a year ago, Minority ministry has been vanished, Slums are in worst position and don’t even have basic facilities of life, Privatization has destroyed the rights of sanitary workers and they are being humiliated and Mary College, Gordon College and so many other properties of minorities are occupied by government. He said that when you will be able to give all the above mention rights of minorities then you will have the right to celebrate that sort of days.
