Faisalabad: March 29, 2016. (PCP) Human Rights Focus Pakistan (HRFP) condemned the Easter Day attack in Lahore Gulshn-e-Iqbal Park when Christians were rejoicing Easter celebrations in the evening with their families after morning prayers. Naveed Walter president of HRFP shared the deepest condolence and sympathies with Christian and Muslim victims and demands to authorities’ to bring the perpetrators to justice and ensure the fool-proof security and safety measures of minorities’ temples, homes and properties by implementing the Supreme Court verdict of Chief Justice Tassadaq Hussain Jillani’s of 19th June 2014 and National Action Plan as well. Naveed Walter criticized the Government that after every such incident, the authorities just put “money” on the injured hearts” of minorities and with statements only but having no long term strategy to eliminate the terrorism from the society. The militants have set as soft target to minorities’ temples, schools and to them at public places also. Naveed Walter further said that after accepting by attackers that it was a targeted attack to Christians on Easter Day, the governments tighten security claims at temples, schools, hospitals and even at public parks is revealed. The other recent example of Government failure in security measures is witnessed during the violent protest of Islamic extremists held on the Easter Day (27th March, 2016) in Red Zone area of Islamabad at the Chehlum ( Religious observation after death) of the assassin of Governor Punjab Salman Taseer, the execution of Mumtaz Qadri also increased hatred against Christian community. Naveed Walter further shared that HRFP is going to issue fact finding report on Easter Day Attack with many facts and recommendations to authorities.
