Pakpattan, Pakistan: March 24, 2016. (PCP) Human Right Activist and Christian leader Chaudhry Javed Advocate have invited attention of Chief Minister of Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif on discrimination on religion with Christian employees of TMA Pakpattan. Ch. Javed Advocate told Pakistan Christian Post that there are 140 total daily wages employees on roaster of TMA Pakpattan to clean the city; 60 are Christian Sanitary workers 80 Muslim Sanitary workers on pay roll. Ch. Javed Advocate said that 60 Christian daily wages sanitary workers clean the streets and drains of Pakpattan while 80 Muslim Sanitary workers are Ghost employees who collect wages with performing any duty to keep city clean. He added that Chief Minister of Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif notified per day wages of Rupees 480 per day and 12,000 Rupees for one month for all TMA employees but unfortunately DCO Pakpattan is paying Rupees 465 per day. According to information received by Pakistan Christian Post Christian daily wages sanitary workers who perform duty are paid 9900 to 10200 Rupees per month when Ghost Muslim Sanitary workers are paid 11500 to 12000 Rupees with doing any sanitation duty. Ch. Javed Advocate said that 60 Christian daily wages sanitary workers cover duty of 80 Muslim Ghost sanitary workers and less paid which is discrimination on religion. Director Local Body Government Sahiwal Division was appointed enquiry officer to investigate TMA Pakpattan daily wages sanitary workers but that ended without any result because it was issue of discrimination of Christian employees and Ghost Muslim employees. Ch. Javed Advocate said that I am contacting relevant officials since 2014 to end discrimination of Christian daily wages sanitary workers of TMA Pakpattan but not any action has been taken because Muslim officers want to safe 80 Muslim Ghost workers who are being paid sitting at homes without performing any sanitation duty. Ch. Javed Advocate have appeal to Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif to take notice of discrimination of Christian employees of TMA Pakpattan who are being victimized because they follow Christianity and paid less than Ghost Muslim employed Sanitary workers.
