Lahore: February 19, 2016. (Pervez Yousaf) A meeting of the Ecumenical Solidarity Committee Lahore (ESCL) held at St. Mary’s Friary Gulberg, Lahore to evaluate the previous year’s programmes and to plan the programmes for the year 2016. Coordinator of the ESCL Fr. Francis Nadeem OFM Cap presided the meeting. The meeting began with the prayer led by Rev. Amjad Niamat followed by evaluation of the previous year’s programmes of ecumenical solidarity. All the members unanimously articulated complete satisfaction and expressed their desire to intensify the ecumenical solidarity between the all the mainline Churches of Pakistan. An affectionate gratitude was extended by Fr. Francis Nadeem to all the Church leaders who offered their devoted services, preached during the Unity Octave and also provided their premises to hold programmes of the ecumenical solidarity. The proposed programmes for the year 2016 are Alleluia Conference, A Recreation Day, the Christmas Carol Service, Shaam-e-Parastish, Easter Monday dinner, Lent Bible Reading and to visit other Churches belonging to the four mainline Churches of Pakistan. The participants also paid tribute to Late Mr. Robin Ghosh who served as Music Director for several years in Pakistan film industry and earned tremendous repute. Participants of the meeting were; Rev. Shahid Mairaj of the Church of Pakistan diocese of Lahore, Rev. Emmanuel Khokhar of the Church of Pakistan Diocese of Raiwind, Rev. Saleem Khokhar of the Church of Pakistan diocese of Raiwind, Major Saleem Yousaf of the Salvation Army, Major Faheem Asghar of the Salvation Army, Rev.Amjad Niamat of the Presbyterian Church in Pakistan and Fr. Inayat Bernard.
