Karachi: August 14, 2015. (PCP) To express love between the two brotherly Muslim countries, Indonesian Consulate General in Karachi combined the celebrations of Indonesian Independence day to be celebrated on 17 August with the independence celebrations of Pakistan. A specially prepared and nicely decorated float truck bearing the flags of Indonesia and Pakistan started its journey on the streets of Karachi on 13th August from Karachi Press Club.
At the occasion, Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia in Karachi, H.E. Hadi Sontoso said “The decision to jointly celebrate the independence day of Pakistan and Indonesia was to show solidarity between the two countries. This is the best way to initiate people-to-people contact and we wish to share the joy of independence with our Pakistani brothers and sisters”
The truck float will continue its journey all over Karachi and will make stops for cultural performances by Indonesian and Pakistani artists.
