PCC demands bail of Asia Bibi on medical grounds after SCP decision to hear her petition

Karachi: July 23, 2015. (PCP) The Central Secretariat of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC have welcomed decision of Supreme Court of Pakistan to regularly hear Asia Bibi petition against death sentence on accusation of blasphemy on July 22, 2015. In a statement issued here today by President of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC Dr. Nazir S Bhatti it is urged to grant immediately bail to Asia Bibi on medical grounds while he is ill from months in Multan Jail without adequate health facilities. Asia Bibi is in Central Jail month in a security cell where she was transferred from Sheikhupura Jail after death sentence awarded to her by District and Session Judge on blasphemy charges of 295 B and C PPC. Asia Bibi was arrested on blasphemy charges when argument arise between her and Muslim coworker women on drinking water in same glass in which Muslim women drink in fields collecting berries. Muslim women blamed that Asia Bibi a Christian who is infidel has made all water un-pure by touching it; To teach lesson to Asia Bibi, the Muslim women blamed he defiling name of their Holy Prophet Mohammad; The Muslim mob gathered in front of her home when she came home and started beating her; The area police reached and arrested her on blasphemy charges. Dr. Nazir S Bhatti said “After acceptance of Asia Bibi petition by Division Bench of Supreme Court of Pakistan of Lahore Registry against her death sentence it is important that bail may be granted to her that she may have treatment of her illness”
