HYDERABAD: March 16, 2015. (By Abbas Kassar) Hyderabad Christian Community staged sit-in protest on second consecutive day against Lahore twin blasts which claimed about 15 lives and 70 injured.
The protest was held outside Hyderabad Press Club (HPC) where a large number of community people including women and children came from different areas of Hyderabad city.
Protesters blocked the road by setting tryes on fire where they also chanted slogans against terrorism.
They were holding banners and placards inscribed with message of demanding justice and action against terrorism.
Similar protests were held at Gari Khata, SP Chowk, Latifabad and other localities of Hyderabad.
Speaking on the occasion, Paster Manisha, who came from GOR Colony, said that the terrorists’ attacks were condemnable act.
“The government and Pak Army already waged war against those terrorists and we are confident to win this war”, he said.
He also appealed to SSP Hyderabad and Sindh Government to provide the security to Churches at Hyderabad and other areas in the province to avert such incidents.
Another Protester, Danial Fayaz said that the government should expand the scope of existing operation against terrorist in the country to defeat them.
Majlis-e-Wahadat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) Pakistan condemned the Lahore twin blasts in a statement released by MWM on Monday.
It demanded to expand the scope of existing operation against terrorists as the issues of terrorism could be eliminated; it further quoted MWM as saying.
Hyderabad Press Club (HPC) held a vigil candles in the memory of victims and to express the solidarity with Christian community.
On the occasion, Journalists condemned the terrorist attack on two churches at Youhanaabad area of Lahore and they demanded from the government to provide the protection to its citizens.
A large number Journalists including Khalid Khokhar, Mansoor Mari, Sahib Oad and others were present there.
