Indian leader demands withdrawal of Pakistan from Gilgit to implement UN Resolution

New Delhi: February 19, 2015. (PCP) “Pak premier Mr. Nawaz Sharif has restarted Pak’s rhetoric on UN Resolution vis-à-vis J&K demanding their implementation. This demand also came during my visit to Pakistan at a luncheon discussion at the headquarters hosted by the President of POK at Islamabad in September last year. When I (Bhim Singh) asked if Pakistan is prepared to withdraw from all Pak occupied territories of J&K as well as all territories of Gilgit-Baltistan, which was sovereign part of Maharajas’ state of J&K. The Union Nations Resolution dated 13.08.1948 had directed Pakistan to withdraw all its armies, civilian settlers from all territories of J&K which included entire POK what Pakistan calls ‘Azad J&K’ as well as Gilgit and Baltistan. This answer quickly changed the subject and I started receiving other welcoming notes from the brethren, media persons and officials at the lunch.” This was the reaction of NPP Supremo, Prof. Bhim Singh on the statement of Shri Nawaz Sharif asking India to implement UN Resolution on J&K. Prof. Bhim Singh said that Shri V.K. Krishna Menon was the only Indian representative who had raised this issue at the Security Council in 1958 asking Pakistan to implement first directive of UN Resolution and then ask for the rest. NPP leader expressed surprise on the continuous silence of the Indian leadership whether it were Congress, BJP or others on this situation. India should have asked Pakistan to implement UN Resolution and also retrieve J&K territory in Karakoram Highway which it leased out illegally and in violation of UN Resolution to China in 1963 in so-called Karachi Agreement. Pakistan had parted J&K territory measuring about 5000 sq. miles which has been used by China to build its international highway connecting Beijing with Peshawar (Pakistan), thus connecting China with Europe by road for the first time in the history. Prof. Bhim Singh asked Nawaz Sharif that this is the time that Pak leadership should stop exploiting its own people in the name of UN Resolution which have been grossly violated by Pakistan itself. Another violation of UN Resolution was the annexation of 28,000 sq. miles of J&K Territory in Gilgit-Baltistan region which was annexed by Pakistan as its 6th province in 2009. Again Indian leadership and the Parliament did not condemn this violation of the United Nations by Pakistan which needs to be condemned. Prof.Bhim Singh invited Shri Nawaz Sharif on any platform in India, Pakistan or the United Nations on the subject he has raised again, the so-called UN Resolution. He said that the matter should be discussed openly and should be left to the judgment of the people of India and Pakistan to decide as to who the real violator of UN Resolutions is and whether UN Resolutions could be implemented by Pakistan? He also advised the Indian leadership to leave this issue to be settled one for all with Pakistan on a table by the leadership of Panthers Party alone.
