Faisalabad: January 16, 2015. (PCP) On 11th January 2015, Peace for nation international (PNI) organized a community meeting to promote peace and tolerance at Chk # 123 J.B. Essa Nagri, Layolpur town, Faisalabad. The meeting was joined by 40 people belong to different spheres of life. The purpose of the meeting was to encourage the community to play their role to promote peace in society for the best interest of our beloved homeland.
Mr. Hashmat Barkat (founder & Chairman - PNI), addressed the current situation of Law and order and war like circumstances in the country. He shared regarding national plan of action against terrorism and welcomed the recent constitutional amendment to eradicate terrorism from Pakistan. He further said that terrorism is the most horrible threat of today. It has become a global problem. The whole world is facing the horrible consequences of terrorism. Bomb blast, hijacking, cross border terrorist activities and massacre on a massive scale are the familiar forms of terrorism. In my opinion, the main motive of terrorism is to weaken a country politically, socially, economically and administratively. Though much effort is in progress to eliminate terrorism from world, but it cannot be rooted out until some international laws of justice are devised. In beginning, first solid step should be taken to eliminate the illegal foreign entry and financial support. Children are worried about their future and frightened over going on bloody situation across the world. We are for Peace, we want peace.
Mr. Hashmat Barkat further demanded that a very comprehensive border security plan should be formulated to control the foreign terrorists for entering in Pakistan and using our soil for terrorist activities and the ban on hate speech should be implemented in letter and spirit and all those found in spreading hate speech through print or electronic media or through loud speakers should be apprehended.
Mr. ZafarIqbal (Program manager - PNI), while addressing the participants of the meeting said that “Pakistan has suffered enough and now this should be enough and the government, political leadership and the law enforcement institutions should do everything required to end terrorism and religious extremism which is important for the safety and security of the citizens”. Mr. Zafar Iqbal further added that people of Pakistan will not just rely on the lip-service but want to see the implementation of the Action Plan which has been formulated after the attack on the Army Public School in Peshawar”. Mr. ZafarIqbal demanded that the access of the militant outfits to the educational institutions and their financing should be checked and banned and all those individuals or groups who are supporting the militants and terrorists openly or secretly should be held accountable.
