Karachi: December 25, 2014. (PCP) Non-inclusion of Minorities in Action Plan Committee not a good sign, keeping minorities away from decision-making process results counter-terrorism campaign more harder, says Pakistan Hindu Council
"A large number of Hindus and other minorities is being targeted in the ongoing terror activities across the country, but Pakistan Hindu Council is shocked to note that there is not even a single minority member who can represent the community in the government-formed Action Plan Committee and due to which, desperation and anxiety level is on increase."
This was stated by President of Pakistan Hindu Council, Chela Ram Kewlani, while commenting on the recent meeting of Action Plan Committee held in Islamabad.
In the context of current situation, he, while terming the counter-terrorism complex and sensitive task, said that absence of representatives from the affected communities in the decision making process made harder to defeat terrorism. Pakistan Hindu Council considers the attacks against minorities, forced conversions and marriages as dangerous internal security threats.
President Chela Ram also noted with regret that the in the Electoral Reform Committee, Evacuee Property Trust Board and other matters related to minorities, the community representatives were not included which, according to him, was not a good sign.
