(By Ashiknaz Khokhar) Active Youth Group, Centre for Human Rights Education and ICMICA Pakistan celebrated the International Human Rights day in Pakistan by the Support of Farrukh Saif Foundation. Pakistan is a state which is battling with terrorism. Pakistan is a state of 200 Million people where it is the sixth population of the world after Brazil. Muslims poplulation is 95 percent and 5 percent are minorities including Christian, Sikh, Hindu, Bahai, Parsi and other religion. In Pakistan, Human Rights awareness is increasing and civil society of Pakistan is promoting here Human Rights.
Program was led by Fr. Raphael OP and Ashiknaz Khokhar. Miss Nabila Khan is the sitting Member of Punjab Assembly from PTI. She was the chief guest of event. Students, Lawyers, Teachers, Religious Leaders, Civil society and human rights activists participated in program. UDHR is presented in the program by a video clips.
Fr. Raphael Mehnga spoke about the religious extremism and terrorism in Pakistan and give attention to Radha Kishan incident where Christian couple was burried due to religious discrimination.
Miss Nabila Khan talked about the need of awareness of Human Rights and appreciate the youth of Pakistan that how they can promote the human rights and peace.
Mr. Ashiknaz Khokhar also added the need of tolerance and religious harmony to respect others faith. Respecting others we can promote the harmony and tolerance with peace.
