Islamabad. April 24 (PR) The attack on Imran Khan on Wednesday in Karachi University symbolizes the politics of intolerance practiced by some political parties. Condemning the attack by students belonging to Islami Jamiat-e-Tulaba on the PTI Chairman

Imran Khan's motorcade was attacked by miscreants when he reached the Karachi University campus on Wednesday afternoon to address a packed auditorium of students. He was invited by the Karachi University to deliver a lecture on his "vision of a modern and democratic Pakistan." Babar said the attack reflects the failure of the government to free the campuses from hooligans who have hijacked the academic peace. The PTI leader said that some political parties that claim to be torch bearers of democracy use these student organizations to spread terror inside the campuses. The attack reflects the intolerance by extremist elements who want to stifle debate and discourse in society. The PTI leader said that despite the violence, a majority of the students who had gathered to hear Imran Khan came out of the hall and implored Imran Khan to deliver a brief address. The students were also demanding that the government should put an end to campus violence so that higher seats of learning could be freed from hooligans. Babar demanded a full scale investigation into the incident, arrest of miscreants responsible for the attack and action against government officials who failed to provide adequate security to the PTI Chief.
