PCM protest against brutal killing of Christian couple

Kasur: November 9, 2014; (PCP) Pakistan Christian Movement lodged a protest against the brutal killing of the Christian husband & wife after they were accused of blasphemy in district Kasur on November 9 2014. They were thrown live in Brick kiln. This protest was led by Dr Riaz Aasi coordinator Pakistan Christian Movement Many people Including Naeem Ishaq Mull General secretary PCM ,Farooq Bashir and Madam Rashida Parveen participated in protest, show their solidarity with aggrieved family and demanded justice for couple. Mr Aasi in this protest expressed anger and grief over the incident and chanted slogans against the brutal killing of the couple in the name of religion. He demanded that all the culprits involved in this inhumane act should be apprehend and brought to justice. He added that all such incidents happen in Government which show that This GOVT has soft corner for such kind of mindset. Naeem Ishaq Mull General secretary PCM said that we have been continuously highlighting the fact that the misuse of blasphemy law which has been evident in dozens of cases, however our successive governments, political leadership and the state institutions have not been able to formulate any policy or strategy to control the damage and save the lives of the people especially of the persons belonging to Christians. The incident happened in district Kasur is another wake-up call for the whole nation, especially for all those responsible for the safety and security of the citizens that they should take this situation very serious and control all those elements who always use different laws to spread religious and sectarian intolerance in the society and persecute the minorities. He further added that Blasphemy Laws should be repealed. Farooq Bashir youth president PCM Punjab demanded that all the culprits should be arrested immediately and the blasphemy laws should be repealed to stop the persecution of minorities and other marginalized groups. Madam Rashida Parveen president PCM women wing Lahore said that Blasphemy Laws are a hanging sword to Christians and other religious minorities of Pakistan. These laws are used against Christians and other religious minorities to pressurize them, to grab their properties and to convert them. PCM is struggling for repeal of all discriminatory laws including the Blasphemy laws. She further added that culprits of Kasur incident should be brought into justice.
