Abbas Kassar elected as Secretary General of Hyderabad Union of Journalists

HYDERABAD, PAKISTAN: June 25, 2014. (PCP) Ghulam Abbas Kassar senior journalist and Editor daily The Pioneer – Pakistan @ Hyderabad and also the member of European Journalism Center was elected unopposed secretary general Hyderabad Union of Journalists, while Farhan Affendi was elected president, among other office bearers elected to new body of HUJ (affiliated with Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists). Others elected were Naseeruddin Rahi (Huriyat) senior vice president, Ahtar Pirzada (Ibrat) vice president, Mirza Khan (Imroz) senior joint secetary, Waseem Khan ( Samaa TV) joint secretary, Tajamal Hussain (daily Jang) treasurer. Followings were elected on governing body:Yaseen Rahi ( Waqt news TV), Husham Shaikh (daily Inqilab), Mir Abdul Jabbar Narejo (Qaumi Awaz), Syed Noor Alam Shah (Akhbare Noor), Mubarak Hussain Qureshi (daily Pasban), Shakeel Ahmed Khan ( Hunar magazine), Syed Mahfooz Shah ( daily Dunya), Dr. Jameel Sanjrani (daily Pak Sindh), Arshad Jabbar Qureshi (Mubassar Qaum), Abid Ali (daily Nai Baat), Muhammad Haroon Arain (Headlines News Agency) and Ghulam Mustafa Solangi ( daily Fateh News). Later, on a general council meeting of union was held which passed a number of resolutions. The meeting condoled with HUJ president Farhan Affendi on death of his sister n law and with governing body member Syed Noor Alam Shah on demise of his elder brother Syed Muhammad Shah Alam Shah Husaini caretaker of Dargah Baba Sakhi Wali Hassan Shah
