Pakistani Christian Diaspora in USA Pays homage to late Dr. Yousaf Yad

Philadelphia, USA: May 26, 2014. (PCP) In a condolence meeting here today, Pakistani Christian Community leaders paid homage to Late Dr. Yousaf Masih Yad and remembered his services in field of Poetry and Writings. Dr. Yousaf Masih Yad, President of Pakistan Christian Writers Guild passed away on May 20, 2014, in city of Peshawar, where he studied in Edwards College and settled till his death. Dr. Nazir S Bhatti, President of Pakistan Christian Congress and Mr. Pervez Sadiq former Secretary of Pakistan writers Guild paid tribute to Dr, Yousaf Masih Shad; Mr. Arthur Shamim, Sheel Arif, N John Minto, Wilson Yousaf, Mr. Ejaz, Shakeel Pervez, Adeel Pervez and Bashir Almas termed death of Dr. Yousaf Yad as great loss to Christian community of Pakistan in general and to members of Pakistan Christian Writers Guild in particular. Dr. Yousaf Masih Yad authored fifteen books as: 1. Bunyadi pathar 2. Azamt-ul Kitab 3. Azeem Khawateen 4. Afzunissa 5.Pak-o-Hind main Masihiyat 6. Tooma Hind-o-Pak main 7. Batul ham kay sheher main 8.Masihi Qalamkaroon say rabtay 9. Sirat-ul Masih 10. Jamal-e shahadat 11. Yahoodiyon ka badsha 12. Nagarshat-e Yad 13. Peyara Paksita 14. Al Quddas 15. Rooza Dr. Yousaf Masih Yad was born in Sialkot. In 1999 he earned a certificate from Open Theological Seminary, Lahore, and was soon appointed a tutor at the same institution. He then continued studying theology at Faith Theological Seminary, Gujranwala and was awarded BTh (1983), MDiv (1997), and DD (1999). The awards and honours bestowed on Yad are many, and the following is only an abridged and representative list: Community Adbi Award (YCO Peshawar 1982), Padri Abdul Haq Award (Pakistan Christian Writers Guild 1998), Adbi Virsa Award (Caritas Pakistan 1998), Tak Kashmiri Award (Lahore Diocese 2000) and David Penman Award (Gulf Diocese 2002).
