Government urged for security of Pakistani Christian during Easter Eve

Karachi: April 19, 2014. (PCP) Dr. Nazir S Bhatti, President of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC has said that Pakistani Christians are celebrating Easter Eve rituals under fear of attacks by Muslim extremists when government of Pakistan and specially government of Punjab are not providing security to Christian worshipers. Nazir Bhatti expressed concerns that none of administration of any city in Pakistan permitted the street procession of “Christ The King” to any Church on Palm Sunday which have been taken out in streets of Saddar Karachi and other cities during Easter. Many Church in cities and Towns of Pakistan have cancelled their Mid-Night and Sun-Rise Easter Services due to security reasons which are alarming bell for religious freedom and interfaith harmony in Pakistan. Nazir Bhatti said that there were was not police deployment in many towns and cities Churches during prayers of Good Friday while Muslim clerics were using mosque loudspeakers to call Christians “Infidels” and liable to be killed if not submit to Allaha when Good Friday services were underway in Churches which was fearful. PCC Chief demanded security of every Church in villages, towns and cities of Punjab in particular during Easter Sunday Prayers because Punjab is hub of Islamic extremists. Dr. Nazir S Bhatti congratulated Christians on Easter Eve and appealed them to offer special prayers for Unity of Christian Nation in Pakistan to get freedom from slavery of Pakistani Muslim.
