ISLAMABAD: February 19, 2014. (By Shamim Masih) There are few finer days in a person’s life than their wedding day. It’s a magical day full of romance and love. And a wedding on the Valentine Day can be extra special. You are being married on the beach or under the shadow of a lighthouse, or the edge of seasonal drainage. I take great pleasure in being a small part of such an important day; when Basharat Khakhor invited me to attend the wedding. Basharat Khokher is known as human rights activist since his great efforts in protecting Rimsha, juvenile accused of blasphemy case in Islamabad. Since then he has been putting his efforts in helping neglected segment of the society. Using his personal resources, he manages the wedlock the poor couple of the slum settlement of Islamabad. I feel great pleasure in being part of this ceremony held in church and we went to the family as well to congratulate them. The bride was provided with necessary items of her daily use and two families had a lunch altogether
