Pakistan Christian Congress demand arrest of killers of Sardar Bagwan Singh

Karachi: January 24, 2014. (PCP) Dr. Nazir S Bhatti, President of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC have strongly condemned target killing of Sardar Bagwan Singh in KPK province of Pakistan. The Sikh elderly person named Sardar Bagwan Singh who was Hakeem by profession from decades was gunned down on January 22, 2014, in district Charsada of KPK province by militants when coming home after closing his shop. There have been few dozen Sikh community members in Pakistan province of KPK and Tribal belt bordering Afghanistan known as FATA after rising influence of Talban in these areas who imposed Islamic taxation and hundreds of Sikh families migrated to India. Sardar Bagwan Singh died on spot with gun shots while attackers who were riding motorbike fled away in broad day light. The victim had 3 sons and 3 daughters who were living with him in their ancestors home in Dabgari from over a century. Dr. Nazir Bhatti said that religious minorities are not safe in KPK province of Pakistan and provincial government have totally failed to provide security and safety of life and property. The suicide attackers killed 86 Christian worshipers and injured dozens in a blast at All Sainta Church in Peshawar City on September 22, 2013, and there have been incidents in same city of attacks on worship places of Hindus and Sikhs. PCC chief demanded arrest of killers of Sardar Bagwan Singh to ensure justice and compensation to his family.
