Islamabad: January 8, 2014. (PCP) Dr. Ramesh Kumar Vankwani, Member National Assembly and head of Pakistan Hindu Council has shown extreme anger on the rise of kidnapping of Hindu girls, forced conversion and marriage. He was talking to the media outside the Parliament House on Tuesday.
The PML-N parliamentarian said that such sorrowful incidents are serious internal threat to the integrity of Pakistan and must not be acceptable. He was of the view that the silence on these issues will encourage the social-evils to commit freely all around the country. He also mentioned recently-kidnapping of a Hindu lady, Lucky Bhel from Sindh who is reportedly forced to marry with a “MUREED” (follower) of a local “PEER”, the religious leader. “Another Hindu teacher, Sapna Rani, from Peshawar is recovered after 15 days with the active support of media and civil society.” He added.
Dr. Ramesh Kumar, answering a question, said that founder of Pakistan, Quad-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah had made promise to minorities for their rights and Constitution of Pakistan also ensures guarantee of their protection. He announced that he will keep supporting the victim families and will raise voice on every forum including Parliament to address grievances of patriot Hindu community.
