Toronto: January 5, 2014. (PCP) International Christian Voice ICV Chairman Mr. Peter Bhatti said “Today we want to remember a great hero who sacrificed his life for the betterment of Pakistan. He was champion of human rights, democracy and religious freedom”
Mr. Salman Taseer, Former governor of Punjab, Pakistan, stood up against the victimization and discrimination facing the religious minorities of Pakistan. He was a great advocate especially for Asia Bibi who is still serving a life sentence in prison.
He was also a best friend of Martyr Shahbaz Bhatti who he was standing firmly with to reform the Blasphemy Laws to protect the peoples form its misuse.
We want to remember Salman Taseer's sacrifice, bravery and commitment to our motherland. May we continue to learn from his example?
At the day of remembrance of Mr. Salman Taseer we demand to government of Pakistan to release the Asia Bibi from prison .
