Karachi: December 13, 2013. (PCP) Dr. Nazir S Bhatti, President of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC has strongly condemned Pakistan Muslim League PML (N) government of Punjab on not giving possession of land of St. Francis School Anarkali Lahore to Catholic Archdiocese of Lahore after payments of denationalization. According to Pakistan Christian Post sources, the Catholic Diocese of Lahore had paid amount of One Hundred and Eighty Thousands of Rupees as fees for de-nationalization of St. Francis School to provincial government of Punjab but possession of said property is never transferred to diocese. The Christian Schools, Colleges and Hospitals “known as Missionary instead of Christians” were nationalized by ZA Bhutto regime in 1972, which were partially de-nationalized during rule of Pervez Musharraf but there are more than 100 Schools, 3 Colleges and 2 hospitals which are still under control of governments of four provinces. At time of nationalization of Missionary Schools, Colleges and Hospitals in Pakistan by ZA Bhutto, it was agreed that properties of these institutions shall be treated as rented by government and only education system along with administration under government rule will be treated as nationalized. Dr. Nazir Bhatti said “As St. Francis School ground is adjacent to Anarkali Bazar which is very valuable commercial zone of Lahore, it is feared that Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz Group PML (N) leaders in Punjab government have planned to grab valuable land of St. Francis School ground to build a commercial plaza and handing over of property of St. Francis School is intentionally delayed by authorities” The St Francis School in vicinity of Anarkali in Lahore is in election constituency of Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Nawaz Sharif who heads Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz Group PML (N) and if St. Francis School land is grabbed by any one, it shall be blamed on him directly. Dr. Nazir Bhatti demanded immediate transfer of complete land of St. Francis School Anarkali Lahore to Catholic Diocese of Lahore.
