HYDERABAD: Two minority girls Miss Amti and Miss Leelan of Tando Muhammed Khan district s belonging to minority Hindu community kidnapped and taken to Karachi where they were forcibly converted to Islam and married with two persons Manzoor alias Porho Jeskani and Abdul Ghafoor Brohi. Both girls were brought back to Tando
Muhammed Khan where on application of their parents police arrested both Manzoor and Abdul Ghafoor. Later District and Sessions Judge Hyderabad called police to produce both girls to his court. On 14 February the girls were produced in sessions court which sent them to Darul Aman . . The girls as they denied of having been converted. They
said they were kidnapped and then forcibly converted and married with 2 Muslim persons. They prayed to court to hand them over to their parents but court sent them to Darul Aman and fixed the next hearing of case on 18 February when their statements will be recorded. Two men of Tando Muhammed Khan Manzoor alias Porho Jeskani and Abdul Ghafoor Brohi had claimed that the girls had converted to Islam and married with
them. On Saturday 18 February the both girls were brought from Darul Aman by police and produced in court. The judge after recording their statements allowed them to
go with their parents.
The kidnappers were already released on bail. Few days back a Hindu girl Sapna was kidnapped from Kandiaro by a Muslim who claimed that she had converted and married with him. Later on threats of Hindus of Sindh that if the kidnapping of their girls and forcible conversion did not stop they would be compelled to migrate to India, the girl was returned to her parents. The kidnapping of minority girls and conversion of their religion was common in Sindh. Hindu leaders have expressed concern on suchincidents and demanded protection.
