Lahore: November 27, 2013. (Pervez Yousaf) 24th Nov. 2013: A special Holy Mass regarding closing of the Year of Faith was celebrated at St. Joseph Church Lahore Cantt., which was attended by a large number of parishioners. In his opening words parish priest Rev. Fr. Francis Nadee,m OFM Cap told the worshipers that Catholics, around the world celebrated Year of Faith from October 11th 2012 to November 24th 2013 following a plea by Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI. Holy Mass began with a procession of the worshippers of all ages that marched around the Church and then entered to attend the Holy Mass. Children and elders were holding the banners and placards.. During the Mass Fr. Francis Nadeem illuminated a candle and handed it over to an elderly worshipper who then handed over to the youth and youth handed it over to the children. This act was meant to be a symbolic demonstration of transfer of faith from Servants of Church (the Missionaries) to the elders and from elders to the upcoming generations The principal of St. Anthony’s High School Rev. Sr. Mary Nilanthi along with the teachers enlightened candles and distributed among the children that signified the spreading of Light of Faith from teachers to learners. They hoped that children will keep on holding the torch of faith and spread its light all around.
