HUB: Unidentified terrorists on Wednesday gunned down three Chinese engineers and their Pakistani driver in Hub area of Balochistan, GEO TV learnt from police sources. The terrorists, who were reportedly riding on a motorbike opened fire at the vehicle carrying Chinese engineers from Attock cement factory, near Karachi. BBC quoted police officials as saying that the Chinese engineers were not accompanied by their bodyguards when they were ambushed in their vehicle by armed men on motorcycles. Two Chinese died on the spot while the third succumbed to his injuries at a hospital in Karachi, police said. A local police chief condemned the incident as "an open act of terrorism". "Terrorists have killed innocent Chinese who have come to work here to help Pakistan," Pervez Zahoor was quoted as saying by the Associated Press news agency. Balochistan Liberation Army has reportedly claimed responsibility for killing of Chinese engineers and a Pakistani national in the Hub area of Balochistan. Most of the Chinese in Pakistan have been mostly involved in the construction of a big port at Gwadar in Balochistan. Killing of Chinese workers in Balochistan at the hands of suspected militants in recent years is a cause of concern for Pakistan government, which also condemned the Wednesday killings of Chinese as "act of terrorism." Pakistan enjoys intimate and friendly ties with China.
