Additional Commissioner Bahawalpur attempts to rape Christian employee woman
Bahawalpur, Punjab: August 28, 2013. (PCP) Mrs. Zareen Bibi is a sanitary worker in the Town Municipal Administration Bahawalpur. She has been assigned duty to clean the house of Mr. Rana Shahzad, the Additional Commissioner. On August 27, 2013 while she was cleaning Mr. Rana Shahzad who was alone at home grabbed Zareen Bibi for rape. He took off her trouser forcibly but she resisted. Her trousers were torn and she ran out of his house without trousers.
Mr. Lazar Nayyer advocate, the legal advisor of SHADOW Organization has submitted application for First Information Report (FIR) in the Kotwalai Police Station Bahawalpur but the police is threatening for serious consequences as the application is against a high ranking officer.
There is agitation and sit in by the sanitary workers and human rights organization in Bahawalpur to file FIR against the accused officer. The city is filled with filth due to the strike of the sanitary workers. Christian and Muslim sanitary workers are united on this issue.
