Islamabad: August 28, 2013. (PCP) Mr. Phillip Anwar, A Christian from capital city of Islamabad, sends SOS to Pakistan Christian Post to save his family from Muslims who threat him to convert to Islam after snatching his savings and destroying his business.
Mr. Phillip Anwar rented a shop for business from Rana Mohammad Fahim Ahmad in 2009, and regularly paid dues every month. He splendid thousands of rupees to turn this rented shop number 4 in Ideal Market of Islamabad into Ideal Gents Saloon. Mr. Phillip employed Christian-Muslim barbers in his saloon and was satisfied with his business.
In 2012, Mr. Phillip Anwar came to know that Rana Mohammad Fahim is not true owner of the said rented shop and but Taj Mohammad is real owner. Phillip started paying monthly rent to Mr. Taj Mohammad on which Mohammad Fahim became furious and threatened him of life.
On September 13, 2012, at 9; 30 PM Rana Mohammad Fahim came with his accomplices equipped with lethal arms and started damaging shop property and employees of Phillip Anwar to take possession. Rana Mohammad Fahim pointed his pistol on me and brought me on street hitting with arms. The attackers on my saloon brook out my shop sign boards and put their own locks.
Phillip anwar called for emergency police help who took them to police station but instead of lodging report against Muslim attackers they locked up Phillip anwar and his brother.
Mr. Phillip Anwar approached area courts and prayed to direct police to lodge report against Muslim attackers on which FIR was lodged against them but up to filing of this story police have taken no action.
Apart from losing his savings and business, the accused are threatening Phillip Anawar to convert to Islam with his whole family to get shop back on rent and damages he suffered unless to face death.
Here is letter of Mr. Phillip Anwar to Pakistan Christian Post:
“This is Philip from Pakistan and religiously a Christian. My religious affinity has become not only the enemy of myself but my family also. Last time, I had contracted for a shop with a Muslim friend who betrayed me and breached the contract which cost me lot of money what I’m still not able to make up. I’ve a family of five members including myself. Three daughters and my wife are not only depending on me but are also finding their future in my future. I am being life-threatened and harassed and my family is suffering due to that. My financial status has weakened so much I’m not able to pay school fee of my children for the last three months. My opponents are rich and resourceful and they are unleashing their anger on me through different means like police and fake cases etc. The people here and their designs forced me even to convert my religious affinity through various means the proof of which is attached in the following e-mail. It is not evidently mentioned in the evidences due to fear of a severe religious backlash. This would seem a common situation for religious minorities here, but my case is more particular and pathetic as well. I would be highly grateful to you if you consider my problems on urgent and humanitarian basis”
