Syria and Chemical Issue: UN invited and major doubts about media sensationalism. By Helmet Joachim Schmidt and Lee Jay Walker
The enemies of Syria and the mass media on a whole are prejudging the outcome of the “chemical issue” and inciting hatred towards this independent nation. It is worth mentioning that all previous false flags pointed eventually towards the Free Syrian Army (FSA) and a plethora of sponsored terrorist groups. Also, the government of Syria allowed the United Nations (UN) into the country in order to obtain important information about the alleged usage of chemical weapons in the past.
It is worth recalling that Carla del Ponte, UN human rights investigator, pointed the finger at terrorist forces when another false flag was raised. Del Ponte stated a few months ago that “We still have to deepen our investigation, verify and confirm (the findings) through new witness testimony, but according to what we have established so far, it is at the moment opponents of the regime who are using sarin gas.”
Aleksandr Lukashevich, spokesperson at the Russian Foreign Ministry, comments that “…biased regional media have immediately, as if on command, began an aggressive information attack, laying all the responsibility on the government.”
More significantly, Lukashevich states that “A homemade rocket with a poisonous substance that has not been identified yet – one similar to the rocket used by terrorists on March 19 in Khan al-Assal – was fired early on August 21 (at Damascus suburbs) from a position occupied by the insurgents.
An expert in the field of weapons and chemical explosives, Stephen Johnson, at Cranfield Forensic Institute, reports that “There are, within some of the videos, examples which seem a little hyper-real, and almost as if they’ve been set up. Which is not to say that they are fake but it does cause some concern. Some of the people with foaming, the foam seems to be too white, too pure, and not consistent with the sort of internal injury you might expect to see, which you’d expect to be bloodier or yellower.”
Margret Johannsen, Middle East analyst at Hamburg University at the Institute for Peace Research and Security Policy, told Deutsche Welle that “Any of the combatant parties that want to provoke the West into military intervention could be tempted to carry out such an attack as an ‘agent provocateur’,” she said. “I’m not saying that’s what happened. I’m just saying that such calculations are not impossible in bitter struggles where all scruples have been abandoned.”
The above comment is certainly vindicated by the fact that mainly civilians were killed and clearly the timing of the attack makes no sense for the government of Syria. Similarly, this area isn’t going to change the outcome of the conflict therefore why would the Syrian government risk everything by killing civilians like this? Also, it is apparent that the FSA and other terrorist groups have mainly escaped the consequences of the “alleged chemical attack.” Likewise, if the Syrian army had been so brutal then how come the various different terrorist groups are not fleeing from this area?
Rolf Ekeus, a retired diplomat from Sweden and a former inspector for the United Nations (UN) in Iraq, is also deeply skeptical. He comments that “It would be very peculiar if they were to do this at the exact moment the international inspectors come into the country.”
The above comment is obviously valid therefore many impartial individuals are very skeptical by what is being reported in the mainstream press. Similarly, the numbers of people killed by this tragic event is skyrocketing. However, currently nobody knows how many people died in the latest attack. Likewise, it is still not known what chemical agent killed so many people and who was responsible. However, the one certainty is that the Syrian government would be committing suicide by killing citizens like this. After all, the government of Bashar al-Assad knows that the enemies of Syria desire an excuse to enter on the ground – or to bomb from the skies.
A former individual in the U.S. Army’s Chemical Corps, and a consultant, name Dan Kaszeta comments that“None of the people treating the casualties or photographing them are wearing any sort of chemical-warfare protective gear…and despite that, none of them seem to be harmed.” This would seem to rule out most types of military-grade chemical weapons, including the vast majority of nerve gases, since these substances would not evaporate immediately, especially if they were used in sufficient quantities to kill hundreds of people, but rather leave a level of contamination on clothes and bodies which would harm anyone coming in unprotected contact with them in the hours after an attack. In addition, he says that “there are none of the other signs you would expect to see in the aftermath of a chemical attack, such as intermediate levels of casualties, severe visual problems, vomiting and loss of bowel control.”
An opposition activist against the Syrian government also raises doubts according to France 24. He states that “These claims of chemical weapons use raise several questions. In the past days, the Syrian army has been carrying out large-scale operations (Preview) and has re-conquered part of the Ghouta region [in the east and west] by bombing the rebels relentlessly. The soldiers are present in some of the zones that the rebels say were hit by chemical weapons. Why would the regime risk the lives of its own soldiers by using such weapons there?”
He further comments that “I am also made suspicious by the fact that the vast majority of the videos circulating online were filmed inside houses, and come mainly from Kfar-Batna.”
“Usually, the rebels try to film all the details – the bombings as they happen, the victims’ evacuation, etc. Especially when several villages were hit! But strangely, that’s not what happened yesterday.”
What is clear is that currently nobody really knows what fully happened therefore it is essential that every angle is scrutinized to the full. After all, we all know that the Iraq war was based on false information. Indeed, even today vast numbers are being killed in this country because of past mistakes and open lies. Therefore, it is essential that neutral observers do a proper investigation whereby transparency is the order of the day.
After all, why would the government of Syria invite chemical weapons personnel from the UN to inspect and then launch a chemical strike so near to where they are staying? Similarly, given the ferocity of al-Qaeda affiliated groups in other parts of the country, then why would Syria risk being bombed by killing civilians? Likewise, how is it that terrorist forces escaped the event but the media outcry was orchestrated immediately?
Opposition terrorist forces which behead minorities, teach children to kill, kidnap Christian bishops, kill Muslim clerics opposed to their militancy – and so forth – know full well that only the chemical issue will entice outside nations to attack Syria from the skies. Also, the media propaganda is covering up the mass brutality of forces which behead innocent civilians for fun and who murder women for refusing to be married to jihadists based on a temporary misyar marriage. In the past, fingers were pointed at terrorist forces for using chemicals but of course they have a free hand to slaughter because these brutal forces are being supported by Gulf and Western powers.
Even the enemies of Syria can’t credibly argue that the Syrian government would invite the UN into their country and then use chemicals against civilians, in order for this nation to commit suicide. On the contrary, Syria did not respond to the bombing of their country by Israel and Turkey because military and political leaders know that outside nations want any pretext in order to bomb Syria. If Syria is bombed by hostile nations then clearly al-Qaeda terrorists and the cleansers of religious minorities are going to be rewarded. Similarly, if the Syrian army is weakened then outside nations are opening up a possible genocide against Alawites, the Shia and the cleansing of Christians. Already, all religious minorities reside in fear and pro-government Sunni Muslims are killed by Takfiris. Therefore, the bombing of Syria based on disinformation will weaken the Syrian armed forces which are protecting Syrians irrespective of religious affiliation.
