Now the whole Christian village has disconnected the cable connections from Muslim Cable Operator. The complaint has been filed with the help and support of LEAD's legal penal, today 31 July,3013 DSP Saddar Circle Okara has called upon the both parties for further taking legal steps. Lahore: On Sunday July 28, 2013, a local Christian Journalist informed LEAD about the Christian Muslim scuffle in Shad Bagh Amir Road near Lahore. It was also told that a Muslim Television Cable Operator named Faisal Butt was demanding some extra fee charges of TV cable connection from the users of the locality including Muslim and Christian due to increasing prices of the things, but some Christian refused to give increased fee of Cable connection. So in this fight Riaz Masih s/o Babu Younis received a bullet wound in his leg and was severely injured. Vejay Masih s/o Niamat Masih was also injured by butt of pistol to his forehead. There was some other who also got injuries. Gojra: A court in Pakistan on Saturday (July 13, 2013) sentenced a Christian to life in prison for alleged blasphemy in spite of the complainant retracting the accusation and admitting police pressured him into making it. On the evening of July 21, 2013, another blasphemy case was registered against the Christian couple in Gojra City in Punjab province. Shafaqat Masih (43) and his wife Shagufta Bibi (40) were accused of blasphemy and arrested on July 21, 2013. The First Investigation Report (FIR) (No. 407/13) was registered under 295-B and C against “anonymous.” The police had taken a cell phone and SIM card into custody. The phone was later found to be owned by Shagufta Bibi, wife of Shafaqat Masih. Police recorded the statement of the couple declaring their ownership of the phone and moved them to an unknown place for further investigation. After taking necessary action and keeping the sensitivity of the issue in mind, the police sent the couple to Gojra Jail. Gojra City is known to be a very sensitive area in such cases. Earlier in 2009, radical Muslims set the Christian colony there ablaze and eight family members were burned alive. The fire was started from the Korian village district. Toba Tek Singh and so far hundreds of houses were turned to ashes there. Much family had left their houses and shifted to other areas of the country and some were left Pakistan. LEAD request you all to pray for Pakistani Christians and for those who are being persecuted by different ways and also pray for Advocate Sardar Mushtaq Gill,National Director LEAD who are under threats and getting warned to be killed. There are some elements who do not wish that LEAD will raise the issue of Christian persecution and give them legal support.
