Lahore: June 17, 2013. (LEAD) Lahore High Court Lahore dismissed the bail plea of an allegedly accused of raping a 15-year-old Christian girl. A case, FIR.No. 22/13, under Section 376 (ii) (punishment for rape) of the Pakistan Penal Code was registered on the complaint of the father against the alleged accused. A cousin of Fouzia Bibi, Alam Ashiq, had been the only one helping Malooka Masih with the case. However, during bail petition, a few days ago the Muslims accused of the rape enlisted law enforcement cooperation from the City of Muridkey and made pressurized the family for compromised. With the intervention of LEAD the police officer was dismissed from job and Masih was released and discharged from false case. Alam Ashiq, requested LEAD to shift the case from Pattoki trial court to Lahore because they are being continuously threatened by the accused supporters to withdraw the case. LEAD is very hopeful that the alleged accused will be punished by law and justice will be done for the innocent Christian family. There is no doubt that Christians are being victimized of hatred due to their Christian faith and belief and due to being poor and weak. We request your prayers for LEAD team that May God give them wisdom to assist in this case against alleged accused and also request to pray for the fiscal needs of LEAD's work. We ask for financial and moral support for the continuity of work which LEAD provides in Pakistan. We are thankful for all who are financially supporting LEAD’s work for the Persecuted Church. We pray for more who have same vision for the Persecuted Church, to be our partners in this noble cause.LEAD is a Christian organization not funded by any other organization.
