HYDERABAD,PAKISTAN: June 4, 2013. (By Abbas Kassar) Baloch rebel leader and former chief minister of Balochistan ( the biggest province in area and smallest in population) Sardar Akhtar Mangal's party Balochistan National Party has refused to take oath in National Assembly and Balochistan provincial Assembly protesting against the rigging in last general election held on May 11,2013. BNP has one NA and 2 Balochistan assembly seats. Another source said that he had raised objection on the words regarding fedility with Pakistan. Sardar Akhtar Mengal had remained in exile during last 5 years of PPP rule. Many Baloch rebels including workers of his BNP are still on mountains fighting for the freedom of Balochistan from Pakistan. Akhtar Mengal son of former chief minister Sardar Attaullah Mengal says that despite elected assembly and governmen the province is being run by army's Frontier Constabulary which is accused of picking up Baloch young men and then dumpling their bodies after killing them through torture. Talking to newsmen at Quetta Monday Sardar Akhtar Mengal said his party was kept away from winning seats through worst kind of rigging in May 2013 election. Welcoming selction of Dr. Malik Baloch as chief minister, Mengal said it does not matter whether the chief minister and governor belong to Balochistan but the fact is that Baloch people are teated like third class citizens in Pakistan. There is rule of federal agencies. He said the last elections were engineered by Frontier Constabulary (FC) which was kidnapping Baloch youth and dumping their dead bodies. He said even during two and half months of caretaker government 279 persons were picked up by FC. 100 of whom were killed under target and bodies of 50 were dumped. He said some elements consider Balochistan as their colony. He said during elelctions FC chief was in full control and election commission served only as figure head. To take control of Balochistan army carries out operation. When they demand their rights they are dubbed as traitors. Meanwhile Human Rights leader Asma Jehangir, commenting on Balochistan situation, has said that Pakistan army raises militants and until the Baloch people continue to receive dead bodies Balochistan issue cannot be solved.
